Document Title:WCI Proposes Second Harmonization Package for Reporting Requirements for Canadian Jurisdictions
Comment Period:Friday, 29 October 2010 through Wednesday, 24 November 2010
Document Description:

On September 8, 2010, the WCI invited stakeholder comment on the Harmonization of Essential Requirements for Mandatory Reporting in Canadian Jurisdictions with the WCI Essential Requirements for Mandatory Reporting and the EPA Greenhouse Gas Reporting Program.  This document and its appendices contain the WCI's proposal for revising and harmonizing the existing July 16, 2009 WCI Essential Requirements for Mandatory Reporting (the ERs) for use in Canadian jurisdictions.  The WCI thanks stakeholders who submitted comments on the first harmonization package.  These comments are currently under review.

A second WCI harmonization package for reporting requirements for Canadian jurisdictions that builds upon the previous package is now available for stakeholder comment.  Follow the links below to view the document and submit comments. This document and its appendices contain the WCI's proposal for new quantification methods for five remaining sources: magnesium production, electronics manufacturing, underground coal mining, petroleum and natural gas systems, and natural gas transmission and distribution.  The proposed WCI ERs are methodologically consistent with those of the U.S. EPA (or as proposed to EPA by the WCI Partner jurisdictions) but are appropriate for use in the Canadian jurisdictions.  The WCI anticipates that WCI jurisdictions in Canada will implement the harmonized ERs by adopting them into or through their reporting regulations.
