New!  On May 16, 2008  WCI will release its consolidated draft recommendations: "Draft Design Recommendations on Elements of the Cap-and-Trade Program" 
These recommendations are the major topic of a Stakeholder Workshop and Webinar/teleconference on May 21. (See "Meetings & Events" section of the Website for details.)
Please submit written comments on these draft design recommendations to WCI through the "Submit Comments" section of the Website.

Initial Draft Design Recommendations
In March 2008 WCI released for public review and comment the initial draft design recommendations for WCI Subcommittees. These draft recommendations include consideration of the comments received to date – both in writing and provided during the January stakeholder meeting and subsequent conference calls. Please note that these initial recommendations were just starting points for narrowing and focusing the committee efforts and that in the coming months more work will be done by the committees to flesh out additional details of program design.

OPTION PAPERS: In October 2007 the five subcommittees of the Western Climate Initiative each issued a paper describing the options they have under consideration as part of the design of a regional, multi-sector, cap-and-trade program. These options were presented and discussed at the January 10 stakeholder workshop in Portland, OR.
